I was born in Norfolk, VA and right after WW II I taught flying for several years at the Norfolk Regional airport, then joining the CAA as an Asst. airport traffic controller at Norfolk. I worked my way up through the ranks to Deputy Chief of the Norfolk Combined Center/Station/Tower. On Jan. 1, 1960, I was transferred to the Eastern Region's Air Traffic Evaluation Branch in New York. Transferred to the Air Traffic Evaluation Div., Washington, DC in July 1961. I became Chief, Evaluation Branch in Washington in 1974 and retired from FAA in December 1981. I now live at Bryce Resort in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia where I'm the senior ski instructor. I've been teaching skiing here for 25 years and am still very active in golf and tennis. | |
