Born in West Virginia 1937. Graduated Central High School, Oklahoma City, OK in 1955. Then joined the United States Air Force. 3/55 Basic Training, Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX 6/55 Air Traffic Control school, Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS 10/55 Assigned to Training at the CAA (now the FAA) at Kansas City Enroute Air Traffic Control Center – was on temporary duty at a civilian facility. 9/56 Tokyo Terminal Control (Approach Control) at Yokota AFB, Japan 4/57 Tokyo Enroute Air Traffic Control Center, Johnson AFB, Japan 4/58 Alexandria RAPCON (Approach Control) at England AFB, Alexandria, LA 1/59 Los Angeles Enroute Air Traffic Control Center, Los Angeles, CA-ATC Contoller and married Kay Gaspard of Alexandria, LA 1/59 FAA Air Traffic Control School, Oklahoma City, OK 3/63 Los Angeles Enroute Air Traffic Control Center, Palmdale, CA-ATC Controller 1/67 Fort Worth Enroute Air Traffic Control Center, Euless, TX-ATC Controller 11/69 Obtained a Commercial Pilots License 6/70 Worked for the Union (PATCO) as Regional Vice Pres., Hurst, TX 1/73 Oakland Enroute Air Traffic Control Center, Fremont, CA-ATC Controller 6/74 Oakland Center – ATC Instructor 1/76 Oakland Center – Promoted to ATC Supervisor (1st Line) 1/79 Los Angeles Center – Promoted to Assistant Chief (2nd Level) 1/82 Assigned to FAA Regional Headquarters in Los Angeles, working in the Air Traffic Division as an Operations Specialist. 5/84 Monterey Air Traffic Control Tower, assigned as the Air Traffic Manager 1992 Was a member of the Monterey County Civil Grand Jury. 1/94 Retired from the FAA with almost 40 years service/experience in Air Traffic Control. 1994 Became involve with the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) and was an officer of the California Federation in several positions, including Federation President for two years. 2002 Elected as Regional Vice President and sat on the Executive Board for six years 2009 Elected and remain Salinas Chapter president of NARFE. Attended several Community Colleges and took many FAA sponsored courses, ranging from computer classes, radar training, leadership training, supervisor training, etc. And when I find time, play a little golf. | |
