U.S.Army Air Corps- enlisted January 1942, four years as a radio operator and air operations specialist. After WWII obtained commercial pilots license and multi-engine rating on the G.I. bill. Went to work for FAA in Jan 1950 at Douglas, AZ.

Worked at various INSACS, Flight Service Stations and Combined Facilities including Gila Bend, AZ, Daggett, Ontario, Burbank, CA and retired at San Diego, CA in Dec, 1975.

Represented the FAA Western Region at FAA Washington H.Q. in 1968, 69, and 70 at the Flight Service FSSCOM Workshops. After retiring did volunteer library work at the San Diego Aerospace Museum Library for 20 years. Obtained Amateur Radio License in 1982 and was active in the FAA Winestompers and FAA National radio nets. Call sign K6HEC. Married in 1943 to wife Talitha and we have 3 married daughters and 3 grandchildren all living in the San Diego area.
