FSS, ATM Yuma, AZ. FSS, Washington, D.C. Headquarters, Western-Pacific Regional Office, ATM Columbus, NE AFSS, and ATM Oakland, CA. AFSS. I was part of Paul McAfee's Mobility Plan. I retired September 3, 1993 as Air Traffic Manager of Oakland AFSS. Moved back to Columbus NE, as that was the location of the daughters and grandchildren. The most challenging and interesting career assignment was as a staff specialist in Washington Headquarters during the strike recovery. We all remember the many good friends, and good controllers that lost their jobs during that period, but the Air Traffic Control system continued very successfully. I worked in Air Traffic Operations with Jack Ryan, Dan Creedon, and Pete Swears. We had the GAR program and because I came out of FSS they assigned me the task of working that program. I was the GAR CZAR. | |
