My name is William "Bill" G. Parker. I was born on 6 February 1938 in Pratt County Kansas. In 1956 I graduated from Byers High School in Byers, Kansas. I attended Pratt Junior College from September 1956 until May 1958. In June 1958, my wife, Deanna and I were married. We farmed for 11-1/2 years in Pratt County. In July1969 I was employed as an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In December 1994 I retired from the FAA. In January 1995, I was employed by the Pratt Airport Authority, Pratt, Kansas as the Manager for the Pratt Airport and Industrial Park. I retired from that position on December 31, 2005. I also served in the Kansas National Guard from 1956-1964. From 1958 until 1962 I was Motor Sergeant, SSGT E-6 and from 1962-1964 I was Chief of Detail, SSGT E-6. The unit was Battery C, 161st Field Artillery. In April 1967 I earned my private pilots license for Single Engine Land, The following is a summary of my career beginning in 1969 with the FAA. January 1988-December 1994 - FAA Local Coordinator for all FAA Facilities, San Angelo, TX January 1995 - December 2005 As the Airport Manager of a general aviation airport and industrial park I was responsible for all phases of the operation, maintenance, marketing and improvements to this complex. The airport is a complex made up of four (4) sections of land divided into air operations, agriculture and commerce. The airside is composed of a 5500' by 100' concrete runway, nav-aids and fixed base operation. The agriculture side is composed of approximately 1500 acres of farm land and a 38,000 head cattle feed operation. The commerce or industrial park is composed of approximately 30+ businesses. I was responsible for acquiring FAA grants and assuring that the airport was within compliance of all federal and state regulations.
