The Paul McAfee Award 2011
Presentation

 

Larry Fortier #3524 was presented the Paul McAfee Award by Executive Director Jim Holtsclaw at a backyard barbeque at Larry's niece and nephews home in San Marcos, California, July 31st. He had been nominated earlier by not one but two members for his pioneering efforts and commitment to the Air Traffic Control System. In attendance at the ceremony were some 25 professional and personal friends. As planned it was a “surprise” to Larry who was thinking he was attending a family get together and found out a familiar group of friends awaiting his arrival.

Larry gave a short acceptance speech, as he was caught completely off guard in receiving this award. But the applause of those in attendance was genuine and warm as was the remainder of the afternoon with his friends and family.
